Applied online through the Red Bull website and received a generic email a couple days later inviting me to a pre-recorded video interview which had to be completed in the next 5 days. Their one way conversation did not give me an opportunity to clarify submission deadline as it included a long weekend and find out which office the role would be based out of as job description only listed a state. As others have mentioned, talking to yourself during the video interview is awkward but the upside is unlimited time to record your answer after you have seen the question. I encountered technical issues with Hire Vue's software which prevented me from recording my first answer but it moved on to the next question (you can't go back!). I requested a callback from their 24/7 customer service team and never received one forcing me to get creative and answer multiple questions on the next available recording. After all questions were out of the way, they said what to expect next - the standard "we're also interviewing other candidates" and I can expect feedback in about one week's time. It is now coming up to a month and I haven't heard a peep from Red Bull and there's no status update on my careers page account. Because of their interview process I have no one to follow up with! Never have I been through such an awful interview process where HR is so detached from candidates. Word of advice to Red Bull's recruitment: be approachable and personable!
