I was particularly excited to explore a project management role at Revision Energy based on their stated culture, celebrating kindness and respect. So, I was incredibly surprised in the interview to hear the CFO share that he was "looking for a drill sergeant" to fill the role. Everything I'd learned in a 20 year career leading projects and while recently earning my degree in project management has taught me that you get more bees with honey, acting with empathy, and being a stable pillar for all stakeholders championing shared project objectives. I regret investing in a three-month interview timeline for this role only to find they were seeking "a drill sergeant," a title I associate with the character from Full Metal Jacket with characteristics I'd never hope to embrace.
