Initial screening call, HR fit test call, technical interview. The process was mostly fine except that in the technical interview they asked about several processes and technologies that were not related to or mentioned in the job description. For the most part, HR was very communicative, but then after the last call, completely ghosted me for weeks. I got the sense from the calls that each of the different interviewers had a different idea of what the specific job responsibilities actually were, so it felt very confusing and disorganized. I came away from it feeling disappointed but ultimately dodged a bullet.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at RapidDeploy (Cape Town) in Apr 2024
Interview
Initial Screening: This stage often includes a conversation with a recruiter or hiring manager to discuss your background, experience, and motivation for applying. They may assess your understanding of DevOps principles and your fit within the company's culture.
Technical Interview: Conducted by team leaders or senior engineers, this interview evaluates your technical skills and problem-solving abilities. You might be asked to explain your experience with various DevOps tools and practices, such as continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), containerization, and infrastructure automation. For example, you may be asked to discuss how you've implemented CI/CD pipelines in previous roles

Interview
The interview process was great. They kept me very informed the entire time. The dates they said they would reach out they did. It was a two way interview. I got to ask questions to also make sure this would be a good fit for me. When interviewing you can tell how much the employees love what they do and the support they offer each other. I applied because I love their mission and want to be part of making a difference.
