I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Ramp
Interview
Ramp's interview process was extremely disrespectful. They reached out to me to become their "lead Android engineer" which interested me due to my level of experience. They then said they hired someone for the role but I would be able to work with them directly as a Staff Engineer. Sure, why not. They gave me a take home that involved downloading a json file from a server, parsing it, displaying it in a scrolling list, showing a details screen when an item is clicked, and had bonus features such as sorting and search. I completed the take home using MVI, Compose, Compose Navigation, and unit tests. I was rejected and I was told that the code and tests were nice but the reviewer didn't like the default animation that occurred when switching screens. I do NOT recommend interviewing here. They wasted my time and will waste yours (as visible by other reviews here). Also, I wouldn't have said anything but their employee posting about openings on Hacker News was so combative and dismissive that I knew that i had to warn others.
