I applied in-person. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at RTD Construction (Woodstock, GA) in Apr 2015
Interview
I was lucky enough to have the opportunity fall into my lap. While working for my then current employer I happened to have a conversation with who would later become my Foreman. Interview process if you could call it that was so easy and relaxed. I was asked a few basic questions regarding my reliability (open schedule, transportation, pass drug test etc.) and my knowledge of the job. I explained I was very hands on and a fast learner but lacked any real schooling in Mechanical Engineering field. I was quickly reassured that understanding how to use simple hand tools would be enough and the more detailed aspects of the job they would teach me as I went along. Starting pay was discussed and when I could enroll in benefits if I chose to. No more than 15 minutes and I was released with paperwork to go and perform my drug test. Results came back in within 48-72 hours and I was hired on.
