Overall, the process was pretty straight forward as there were two to three interviews over Teams or Zoom and it took about two to three weeks from start to completion.

Application
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at RSM (New York, NY) in Jan 2016
Interview
The interview process is long, so be prepared. In one day I interviewed with 6 partners/managers back to back. Everyone was great but it was long. RSM does move very quickly in terms of getting out an offer. The day after the interview, I received an offer.

The interview occurred in the downtown Los Angeles office. There were two interviewers alternating questions generally. There was also a Zoom interview option, but I declined that option. This was a first interview. Unfortunately, I was not invited back for a second interview.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at RSM (Washington, DC) in Mar 2024
Interview
The interview process for a tax manager position at RSM typically involves multiple stages. It begins with an initial phone screening to assess your qualifications and interest. This is followed by one or more in-depth interviews with HR and senior tax professionals, focusing on technical skills, tax law knowledge, and problem-solving abilities. You may also participate in a case study or practical assessment to demonstrate your expertise. Finally, there may be a cultural fit interview to ensure alignment with RSM’s values and work environment. Throughout the process, communication skills, client management experience, and leadership potential are key areas of evaluation.
