      Project Analyst Interview

      28 May 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Quick Release (London, England)

      Interview

Most difficult interview process I have ever gone through. I applied to the company 3 months ago and received a reply to complete a data analysis exercise a month later. Did not hear back from the company until a month and a half later. Once I found out that I had passed, I was asked to answer motivation questions for which I wrote around a page and a half. Then silence from Quick Release for another month. I am then told that they have completed their recruitment cycle for that period and I should provide my availability for an informal call interview. After I completed the call interview I was told by the interviewer "...you seem like a good fit...when would you be available for the assessment day?" I replied the following week (call took place on Friday), stating my availability. My reply was followed by a rejection stating I am not fit for the role. I had a very busy schedule during the interview period and it was quite hard to accommodate Quick Release's requirements at times. I have not so far written a bad review following an interview for any company but these guys just take the biscuit. The only reason I continued with the interview process is because of employee reviews and the job description matched what I was looking in my ideal role. Their abhorrent organisation surrounding the interview process makes it seem like I might have dodged a bullet.

Thanks for feeding back to us. Obviously, it's never nice to hear that any candidate applying to Quick Release has had anything less than a positive experience as we do genuinely work really hard to try and make it a positive candidate experience for everyone. We have reviewed the case and in this instance I believe we did take longer than we'd like in progressing this candidate from the application stage to interview, for which we are profoundly sorry. We have looked into the reasons for this, and unfortunately, it did coincide with a period in which we were a staff member short in recruitment. We have since taken action to bridge this resource gap temporarily and we are now looking to grow the recruitment team through the addition of a Recruitment Project Manager, with the aim of keeping any waiting times down to a minimum. We do ask all candidates who reach the telephone interview stage about their potential availability for the planned Assessment Centre dates - it would be very difficult to plan them without doing this and it also helps to give candidates fair warning of what may be required of them if successful. Of course we do apologise if this caused any confusion. We make a point of informing all candidates of the reasons why we do this, and strongly emphasise that we will get back to them with the outcome (successful or not) within a specified period, usually no more than 2 weeks. We have checked the records and this process was undertaken correctly with this candidate, who was informed they hadn't been successful 12 days after their interview date. Despite this, I will be reviewing the documentation we use as a guide when interviewing, and I'll revisit the "sign-off" section, to see if we can make the next-steps and decision making process clearer. We work so hard to make the Quick Release candidate experience as positive as possible, irrespective of the outcome, and I'm confident that we do deliver this in the vast majority of cases. To receive a negative review is really disappointing and thankfully they are rare - but we absolutely promise to take any points on board, to learn from them and to make changes and improve.
