      Analyst Interview

      24 Aug 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Provo, UT
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Qualtrics (Provo, UT) in May 2015

      Interview

I was contacted by one of their recruiters, who told me about the role, and how great a company Qualtrics was. After an initial screening, I was scheduled for the first round on on-site interviews. I arrived on the appointed date, and waited around the lobby area for about 5min, as there was nobody on the reception desk, before a random employee showed up, and kindly offered to take me to where the other recruiters were (the recruiter that contacted me was nowhere to be found). Eventually another recruiter figured out who was supposed to interview me, and the process began. On the first round of interviews were very bright, and did a great job presenting Qualtrics, and the growth opportunities. They seemed very interested in my background, and expected me to move forward in the process. On the next round meeting with the manager of that particular team, was quite underwhelming. After having met several employees who were dynamic, personable, and bright, this manager spent most of the time talking about how exclusive Qualtrics is, how difficult it is to get in, and how smart everyone had to be. He rarely made eye-contact, and in general seemed annoyed to be there. I believe I made it to one of the last rounds of interviews, but then got a short email indicating I did not get the role. If Qualtrics was a stock I would definitely buy it, but after my interactions with employees there, learning about the culture of the company, I would not want to work there. The Glassdoor reviews reflect what I found while meeting people there: - Very high expectations but low correlation with rewards - Culture is outwardly relaxed, but internally is very intense - Pay is significantly below average, even for Utah - They make an excellent product, and the company will continue to do well - Recruiting practices favor those with high GPAs as opposed to experience, causing several teams to be unbalanced - Perks are great, but are indirectly used to justify low compensation - Health benefits are great - Because of poor compensation, and recruiting practices, they are unable to recruit the top talent Qualtrics expects to attract, and critical roles often remain open for several months, making it difficult for people in teams that are understaffed

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      - Why do you think you would be a good fit? - We have people that are probably smarter than you, how would you cope with that pressure? - What makes Qualtrics unique in this industry?

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Qualtrics

      Interview

First step was recruiter screening call. Typical call with info on the company and well as getting to know you, it was pleasant and recruiter was nice. A week later was the hiring manager call on zoom. Mostly behavioral but a little more on background. Some “tell me about a time when” questions.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Qualtrics (Provo, UT) in Sept 2016

      Interview

I was contacted on LinkedIn for a phone interview, and I talked with a recruiter on the phone for about 15 minutes about the position and my experience. The position was similar to a part-time position I held at that time, but I was only interested in part-time work and then graduate school, and Qualtrics was looking for a long-term employee.
