Opportunity Development Team Member (Sales Representative ) Interview

      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Qualtrics in Mar 2015

      Interview

I applied through a friend who sent my resume along to the recruiting team. I got an email from him saying he had passed it along. Literally 10 minutes later I received an email from the recruiting team trying to set up a time to talk. The quick response was a welcome surprise. We scheduled a phone call for the following week. Phone Call: Obviously Qualtrics wants to gauge your interest in the company and do a superficial review of your resume. I wasn't sure which position I wanted to apply for and I think this was a turn-off for the first recruiter I talked to. He scheduled another phone call for the next day with the sales recruiter. That phone call went a lot better because I knew what to expect after the first conversation. Both calls focused on my resume and how my experience had prepared me to be an asset for each respective team. After my conversation with the sales recruiter she sent me an email with a link to HireVue, a video interviewing site. Video Questions: Since I live out of state, the site (HireVue) allowed me to answer ten video recorded questions that would be used for the next round of evaluation. The recruiter mentioned that as soon as I got these submitted the sooner they could move on to the next stage. I did additional prep for this interview seeing that I would be on camera and would have a limited amount of time to answer each question. HireVue was easy to use and very convenient. I finished this step on the same day I talked with the sales recruiter on the phone. Total time from resume submission to this point: (9 days) Three business days later I got a phone call from the same sales recruiter saying I was selected to move on to the next stage: Video Chat. We scheduled that for two days later, although I could have done it sooner. I was sent a link and other instructions to attend the video conference. Very simple process. Video Chat: I enjoyed this step the most. It gave me a great opportunity to gauge the culture at Qualtrics and meet my potential boss. They allowed me to ask my own questions which told me they knew I was also interviewing them for a good fit. It was a conversation-type interview and I felt really comfortable the whole time even though they asked a few questions that caught me off guard. Overall, they were very open and honest about the culture and the challenges Qualtrics faces. They weren't trying to hide anything. At the end of the interview they told me they would get back to me by the following week. However, they called me on a Friday, just two days later and extended me an offer. Resume to Offer: 17 days. I had a great experience interviewing with Qualtrics. I never felt uncomfortable and all the employees were very upfront and professional. Their laid-back culture shouldn't be interpreted as an indication of unprofessionalism because it is obvious they know their stuff and their place in the business world. It's a turn-off for some. But most of us who are young want an energizing workplace. Qualtrics has done a great job of destroying the age-old image of a dry, boring workplace. And they've managed to combine that with a very cool product.

      Question 1

What weaknesses do you have that might interfere with your responsibilities as a sales rep? Why Qualtrics? Why Sales? Why did you choose your particular college major? What do you know about Qualtrics?
