      Customer Success Manager Interview

      21 Jul 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Qualtrics

      Interview

There are basically three ways you can get an interview at Qualtrics: *Get referred by an existing employee that is at least as senior as the position you're applying to *Be an MBA grad from a target school. Qualtrics actively(and almost exclusively) recruits there for mid-senior roles *A recruiter reaches out to you through LinkedIn I was referred by a current employee. The process is fairly standard for tech companies that closely guard their culture. HR screening, and then multiple rounds of interviews with mid-level managers, peers, and then finally an interview with a senior manager. One of those interviews (usually the one with the senior leader) will be a case interview (a simpler version of the type you'd get interviewing for any management consulting role). It's actually fairly straightforward if you have experience in consulting, which I do. Every one of the interviewers (except for the recruiter) was an alum from big consulting. I got an offer fairly quickly. It was a paycut on salary, but was promising on the equity side. Ended up declining the offer. Mostly because of the feedback from my contacts working at Qualtrics. The culture, team structure and role is basically trying hard to replicate the way big 3 consulting do it. Nothing wrong with that, unless you're looking for a change. On the upside, there is little travel compared to traditional consulting. On the downside, seems like most of the time is not spent in strategy but rather administrative tasks, and everyone told me about high attrition and low morale in the CS group. Some glassdoor reviews talked about the same. Highly recommend you talk to a current employee. Everyone that I messaged on LinkedIn was willing to talk about their current or past experience.

      Customer Success Manager Interview

      Sydney
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Qualtrics (Sydney)

      Interview

Interviewed for Sydney, CSM/CSMAssociate role. Went through 3 rounds. First round: With the recruiter, very lovely and asked standard questions Second round: With a senior team member. This interview went well and they said with my experience, I'd be more aligned to the CSM (not assoc.) role. Third round: With the manager, in-person. He was 20 mins late to collect me from the lobby before the interview started. He explained to me that the role has now changed and they're looking for someone technical. Within 15 mins of the interview, he told me I was not a right fit due to the role change. Going from being told I would suit better to a senior role to then being rejected on the spot in an in-person interview was brutal. They really made my come in for an interview for a job that didn't exist. Truly dodged a bullet, good riddance.

      Question 1

Asked about technical experience, why qualtrics, tell me about yourself.
