I applied online after being advertised the role both on LinkedIn and at my university’s job fair. I applied around Oct. and received an interview request in late Jan./Feb. I initially applied to a different role that was filled, but a recruiter reached out to me about the Project Manager job because they thought I might be a better fit for it, which was nice. After a standard phone screen I was able to speak with someone who actually worked in the role I was interviewing for. These were a nice touches that other companies typically wouldn’t even consider.
Afterwards, they wanted to set up a video interview about 1 or 2 weeks later. The video interview was tough, as I interviewed with 3 different people from 3 different teams. Only one of them would actually work with me. One would work in a conjoining team (sales I believe) and the other was in a totally different team. The interviews in all lasted about 2+hours.
One thing I didn’t like is that I was asked about my GPA, which wasn’t terribly low but also wasn’t glowing. I probably shouldn’t have even included it, but I would have hoped a young and progressive firm like Qualtrics would have easily looked past something as banal and old fashioned as GPA since there are clearly a plethora of indicators of a good employee besides it.
