There were 2 steps that I took.
- Tech
General and basic cpp questions. The programming depth wasn't deep since the interviewer wasn't in a tech field.
- Behavioral
They asked me how I would handle the project, how I would take it to your client.
I applied online. I interviewed at Qt Group (London, England) in Feb 2026
Interview
Interviewed for a role after prior similar application (not flagged in their ATS). Recruiter unaware, proceeded normally; no red flags on my end. She then "investigated" my history and auto-rejected next day. No pros, as for the cons: Poor internal systems which wasted my time. My advice is : Sync your ATS properly before re-contacting candidates for similar roles months apart
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
tell me about yourself and why did you apply for the role
It started off well, but one major issue was the lack of a clear process and timeline. The interview journey felt scattered, with long gaps of 2–3 weeks between updates and next steps. After nearly two months, I was informed that recruitment was being paused due to planning for the next year.
This delay could have been avoided with better timeline checks and a more structured hiring process from the start. For a non-technical role, it’s difficult to understand why the process extended beyond a month.
The explanation also raised some doubts, and I would have preferred more transparency,
whether that meant a hiring freeze or budget changes. It was especially disappointing, as this is an organization I’ve long admired and genuinely hoped to work for.
