I applied in-person. I interviewed at Pure Gym (Luton, South West England, England) in Jun 2016
Interview
Requested to spend a shift session of 5hr for Assessment - Asked to approach gym members to find out motivations for training/ and possible alternatives. Perform normal hourly tasks required of PT's. Asked to construct and instruct a 15 min class for assessment.
End of session interview discussing personal motivations for wanting the job and performance on above together with peer review of performance throughout session.
The interview was great, was very professional and a good atmosphere overall. Everything was explained in an orderly structure that ensured you are the correct person for the role. The interview process was ideal for new trainers looking for their first employment in the gym.

Question 1
Tell us about yourself, and why you want to be hired.
I applied for a job at a new site and submitted my application. I was then called in for a face-to-face meeting with the manager and assistant manager, both of whom were friendly. The next stage was an interview with the Microsoft team, which required me to prepare a PT business plan beforehand.
During the interview process, I met with the internal recruitment manager and local manager. I answered a few questions, and they informed me of the outcome a few days later.
The next day, I was contacted by the internal recruitment manager. He was supposed to call me but instead dragged it out and asked me more questions before finally telling me that I was unsuccessful. He gave the reason that I lacked experience, which I found laughable. However, I did not entertain him with further questions.
Overall, it was not a good experience, and I have no intention of applying for a position at Pure Gym in the future.
