      Project Lead Interview

I interviewed at Propeller (New York, NY)

      Interview

Yikes, this seems to be a trend. I had a few phone interviews and met in-person with one of the co-founders. All went very well. Then they flew me to Portland for the Business Case interview, which I felt also went very well. I was told they'd let me know of a decision the following week. It's now been 3 weeks and they haven't responded to a single email. I've since accepted another offer, and would have wanted to consider Propeller alongside the others, but feel now like I've dodged a bullet. I'm writing this review not to vent, but rather to warn other interviewees. This is extremely unprofessional and despite appearances and the high rating by employees, it's a red flag that I'm not the first (and likely won't be the last) to experience this. If you do go through with the interviews, ask them about this...I hope they have a good answer!

This is Dan Cadigan, Talent Acquisition Manager at Propeller. First, thank you for taking my phone call, despite my delay in connecting with you. Thank you also for your openness to the reasons that we chose not to move forward with an employment offer. And, finally, congratulations on your new role. The delay after your final round Business Case Interview was a combination of human (my own, exclusively) and system error, combined with the holidays. There is no excuse, and the delay was entirely my fault, not the fault of anyone else on our recruiting team. Please accept my personal apology. I will take your feedback to heart and strive to take better care with each candidate. I am glad to read, though, that your interview process went smoothly until after your fourth interview with us. That is a big investment of your time, for which we are very grateful. Thanks again for traveling up to Portland and all the best in your new role.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Propeller

      Interview

Applied online, it took weeks for the recruiter to schedule a call and then after the initial screening, the recruiter suggested next round of phone interview. After multiple follow-up emails, the recruiter gave a standard answer that we don't want to move forward with next steps. I think the way recruiters handle the process reflects the culture of the company and the way they treat their employees. No respect for the candidates time and effort! Hiring is always a two- way street. Not a very enjoyable experience.
