      Email Security Architect Interview

      11 Sept 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Diego, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Proofpoint (San Diego, CA)

      Interview

Easy interview and process, three interviews including the HR call. I really liked the team and when I heard the details about the position, I felt that it's way easier than my last position, so I thought I had a great chance sadly I didn't get the job. The last interview with the manager was not about my experience or background but about a list of question, she almost never asked me about my background or why I would be great for the rule, just these question generic question that I sadly missed because I didn't have the exact background for the role, she also asked some "creative thinking" which I personally think has absolutely nothing to do with the role. What I didn't' like about the process is that even though the interviews were supposed to be video interviews none of them was. I was the only one during the interviews with an open camera, it bothered me, and I was uncomfortable. Why was it called video interviews, and would they hire someone who they didn't see if I didn't open the camera? second if all their interviews are done without a camera that means anyone could easily cheat using ChatGPT or other resources to answer all their questions and look perfect, I'm wondering did I lose the job for someone who didn't open the video camera and cheated their way. Is the company even concerned about this? or maybe they didn't care because the entire interview was just a formality, and they already had their perfect candidate. I feel very disappointed as this is not the first company that does this, do they even care about how much the interviewing process is hard and stressful to think that I might be losing jobs to people who are cheating is very frustrating.
