I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Promega (Madison, WI) in Aug 2022
Interview
The overall process took 2 months. I did a phone screen with HR which lasted 45 minutes, and then a 1 hour interview with the hiring manager and another 1 hour interview with another member of the team. I went on-site and gave a presentation, and met with ~10 members of the team. I did 5 30 minute interviews after my presentation, along with lunch on campus afterwards. The questions were all reasonable, and none of them caught me off guard. Most were what I was looking for in a new position and why I would be a good fit for the team. Overall a long process, but not the hardest interview I’ve ever done.
I had an interview with a Senior Research Scientist Group Leader where he asked me about my previous wet lab experience involving cell culture and cell based assays. The interview was 30 minutes and mostly just about my experience and some behavioral questions.
I heard back after a month.

Interview
Terrible. The people who would influence the hire did not attend my seminar and I never met with them. The head of the lab told me on the phone that he had a lot of work for people to move into. Then, during the interview, he asked what research I would bring with me. Even if they had offered me a position, after that, I probably would have declined.
