I applied for a Product/UX Designer role and initially had a great chat with the Head of UX. The next (and final) stage was to complete a design task.
Unfortunately, the brief was vague and didn't match what the interviewers actually expected. They claimed it would only take 4 hours, but in reality, it took around 25 hours of unpaid work.
The task description clearly stated to prepare one most impactful opportunities for improvement, but during the interview they criticised the solution for not being a complete redesign of the entire booking flow.
It felt like being back in school - trying to guess the 'key'to the solution or what they wanted to hear. The interviewers were quite rude and dismissive throughout.
They clearly don't know what they want; they've been looking for a Product Designer for over 3 months now.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend applying here - the process was disrespectful of candidates' time and effort, and certainly not worth doing unpaid work for.
