      Software Engineer Interview

      24 Sept 2021
      Anonymous employee
      New York, NY
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Prizeout (New York, NY) in Jun 2020

      Interview

I was sent a take-home coding challenge after the first round interview with a Product Manager. The challenge was part front end, part back end but you can focus on the area you are most comfortable in. After I got the green light on that, I had another interview with a senior engineer. The last step was another round of interviews - I met with 2 more engineers plus the CTO and CEO. At the time I was hired, all of my interviews were conducted remotely. Overall, the interviews were conversational and friendly, and I felt comfortable talking with them. There were technical questions, in addition to reviewing my code challenge, and getting to know you conversations. The process altogether went very fast, which was nice. I didn't feel like I was waiting around and everyone I spoke to was super nice and respectful.

      Software Engineer Interview

      14 Jun 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

      I interviewed at Prizeout

      Interview

Intro call with their recruiter -> Take home assessment -> Virtual onsite. Overall, the process felt very unprofessional for the following points: - Take-home assessment could be worded & scoped better. - The recruiter gave me the list of whom I'm having interviews with without the interview contents until the night before the onsite interview. - One of the onsite interviews had a different format than I was told I would have. The interview format wasn't something you would normally do in a software engineering interview process. - Interviewers changed, without notice, but this is something I could understand at least as there could be events needing more attention. Overall, it was the first company out of 20+ on-sites I was afraid to join after how things were structured.
