I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Primark (Leeds, England) in Feb 2016
Interview
First you complete some questions online. They're situational ("What would you do if....")
You will then receive an email or phone call (I applied at 2 stores, one emailed and one called) asking you to come to the store for an interview. The interview is pretty easy. First they tell you a little about the company and then ask a few questions about it and then they ask about customer service and a few situational questions.
A couple of weeks after my interview i received an email telling me that i was successful and that I had to complete an online health and safety course and fill in a couple of forms and add details to my online account (availability, bank details etc...)
They only offered me 4 hours a week but it's still worth accepting as there's usually plenty of overtime available. I think I've only done 4 hours in a week once (first week). After that, the least i've done is 8.
TIP - They're obsessed with customer service and providing a good in store experience. Make sure you know about CS
One on one with the team manager of the department which i was about to get hired. He asked me situasional question like "How would you deal with an angry customer?" or "How do you cooperate in team when you have a bad day"
In the interview, I was told about the working hours and was asked several behavioural questions, as well as why I want to work at Primark and what I know about the Company and its values.
The process begins with an online assessment to evaluate initial skills and qualifications, and candidates who pass this stage are then invited to attend a formal in-person interview for further evaluation.
