Interviewed for this position twice in the past several months. Was told after my first interview by phone I was more than qualified for position and they were “very impressed” with my credentials. However, they found an internal candidate which “better” met their needs. When I asked where I placed in the interview process scale the recruiter indicated I was their second choice. They encouraged me to apply again for the position if it came up, So low and behold, two months later, the position was reposted and I applied again.
A week after the post expired I wrote to the department head and was ghosted. I soon discovered this time I was not even being considered for an interview. Wow I thought, I did receive a phone call after I inquired a few weeks later and they said again, “we received outstanding internal candidates which they had great deal of respect for so they went ahead and hired another internal candidate.
I have lost a lot of respect for this organization and will never apply again. Why? Because of how they indicated I had done after the first interview. I was really excited the position came up but again they chose an internal candidate again.
The recruiter said they were so “impressed” with my first application but why not an opportunity to get a second interview chance?
No sense in posting nationally if you’re not going to back up what you say to potential candidates. It’s just poor leadership which posts another opportunity after building up a candidate and and not even be interviewed?
This is very disrespectful, hypocritical and untruthful. Am I a sore loser? No just disappointed in an organization I thought was credible.
