I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Portland Police Bureau (Portland, OR) in May 2016
Interview
The first phase of the interview process was a writing exercise. I was instructed to write in pencil, a response to a fictitious email. Once I completed the task, I was ushered into another room for the panel interview. The panel consisted of three individuals and I was given a copy of the questions the panel was about to ask. The questions were pretty routine and the interview lasted approximately thirty minutes or so.

Interview
The process was long, over 5 months. The communication was kind of sporadic, so patience is a must. The correspondence was overall pleasant. Though the clarity about the process was not clear. If you don't ask, they won't tell. The interview process was first over the phone, then in person for the 2nd phase. The in-person interview was before a panel of 4 people. The interview included a written portion and then a presentation in the interview.
