Had to submit CV and application letter. Their President did a Zoom interview with me. He was very upfront, informative, and down-to-earth and friendly and even compassionate. He was very clear and direct about their needs and goals and the expectations for the successful job candidate that gets hired. Very smart and focussed on exciting new models and practices and products. I was asked to do a writing and analysis test as part of making it to the next tier of consideration. After that, I was interviewed by their COO and a VP, as part of the next tier of consideration. In a timely manner, they told me that they had to offer the job to someone else because, of their 4 hires, they needed to ensure they had a mix of certain skills across the team. They were impressed by me, but I didn't have one of these specific skills they wanted to have on their team. Buyer's market, I guess. Said he wanted to keep in touch in case I'm available and interested when they hire again this year. Very kind, he even followed up this week, about 2 months since we last interacted, to share a job posting for an organization on the client side that would be a good fit for me. How great is that? Humanity.
