HORRIBLE and BROKEN INTERVIEW SYSTEM.
The interview process took a total of 2 weeks, with a total of 4 rounds. The first screening call with Sarah, the internal recruiter, went well. Next, I had a 30 min interview with the hiring manager. Then, I had a 45 min behavioral interview with the hiring manager and the team. Finally, I had a 30 minute interview with the VP of TechOps & Trust.
After each interview, I received updates from the recruiter that the manager and team really liked me. Even after the final interview, Sarah told me that the team really loved me and enjoyed meeting me.
2 days following the final interview, I received an email that they went with other candidates "whose experience more closely aligns with the needs of the position."
Why would you drag me through 4 rounds of interviews if you knew I wasn't the "best" candidate for this position? Why would you hype me up throughout the whole process just to waste my time in the end? Why does the VP need to have a final interview with me for the lowest level worker in their IT department?
I immediately knew this company was a red flag after Sarah explained to me that there was going to be another 3 rounds of interviews after her first screening call.
