Was contacted by a recruiter for the position. Spoke several times and then passed me off to the “scheduler.”
Due to staffing issues, the two technical interviewers were from another region.
The interview was being conducted via MS Teams.
The interview started 7 minutes past the scheduled time. I was about to exit the chat before one of the interviewers popped on. 23 minutes past the interview start time, the second interviewer came on. He was conducting his part from his cell phone. He was in a Starbucks or some coffee shop. Instead of stabilizing the phone he was walking around and flipped the camera to the wrong side.
After 27 minutes, they started the interview which were easy questions. But the unprofessionalism, caused me to be me the interview.
1) Be on time or notify the interviewee.
2) conduct the teleconference from a professional location … instead of walking around on your phone.
3) If you ask a salary question, and the interviewee makes more than you … do not call that person a liar.
