I applied online and was contacted by the hiring manager a few days later. They left me a voicemail stating that they reviewed my application and wanted to talk more about the position. I called them back less than an hour later, but they did not answer. I left a voicemail asking to set up a call and providing my open hours. They never responded. In the days following, I tried calling 3 more times, leaving a voicemail each time, and emailed the hiring manager directly using the email provided on their online application. I received no response. A week later, I was contacted by the HR department saying that my application was no longer being considered with no explanation from them or the hiring manager of why they decided to ghost my calls and emails in response to their initial inquiry. I sent a final email to the hiring manager asking why they never got back to me. they sent an email simply saying that the position was no longer available. It was quite frustrating and a waste of my time.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Pheasants Forever (Kansas City, KS) in Sept 2024
Interview
I was asked multiple questions about different ecosystems in Kansas. However, I had no preparation for the interview/ didn't know that they were going to quiz me on knowledge that I learned 2 years ago. I also didn't get a job description until the very end. They asked me more biological questions than about my work ethic.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Name 3 warm grown grasses? Name 3 cool grown grasses? Name 3 forbes?
The interview was pretty straight forward. We just had the one in person interview with three people on an interview panel. Do some research about the company and some technical questions related to the iob.
