I’ve applied to Pet Paradise at the Kyle, TX location twice, and honestly, I don’t know why I bothered wasting my time. The first time, I did get an interview. However, despite my over six years of experience in the dog care field, they weren’t willing to pay me what I requested. I was told I was overqualified and didn’t get the job. Recently, I applied again, but this time I didn’t even get an interview. Instead, I received an email saying I wasn’t qualified due to a lack of experience.
Can someone make sense of this for me? How do I go from being overqualified to suddenly not qualified enough? It’s confusing, especially since this place hires high school students and recent graduates with no experience. Why don’t companies like this value people with real expertise? Instead, they seem to hire inexperienced workers who don’t last, leading to high turnover.
