This interview was questionable at best. I was originally told that I would be meeting with three people after a brief phone interview, two managers and the person who interviewed me on the phone. However, upon arrival four people whom I had never spoken to were there to interview me all at once. The interview overall was under thirty minutes, and consisted of them mostly talking about the importance of the process and being methodical.
They literally asked me two questions: Why I applied to pet express, and then if I owned any pets. After the four people finished talking (pretty much in succession) about the procedure and whatever else, one woman gave me a walk through of the office before asking me what I looked to take away from this job. I did not understand what she meant due to her vague wording, so I asked her to clarify and she finally asked how much I expected to get paid. I told her I was looking for whatever the job posting stated (in this case $20-$23 an hour) and she told me they had one more interview that day but that they would let me know by the next day. Lo and behold, they did not call me. I waited three days before calling them, before they called me a day later to tell me that they had decided to hire from within. That is untrue given that the job posting I originally applied for was just renewed two days ago. I'm insulted that they felt they needed to lie about wanting to hire me without even really giving me a chance to speak during the interview. I have never been through such an unprofessional onsite interview before.
Honestly, this interview was kind of a waste of my time because I didn't even get to practice being interviewed and instead was just told over and over about how important the paperwork process was.
