I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Perk (Barcelona) in Oct 2019
Interview
I applied online and very soon received a response with an invitation to a screening call with a recruiter.
I was disappointed with the way the recruiter led the call. They didn't tell me anything about the company or the role and jumped straight to their list of standard screening questions, which were very generic and didn't provide any further insight to the role or qualities and skills they were looking for in a candidate.
The recruiter didn't seem engaged as I was answering their questions. They didn't invite me to ask any questions. When towards the end of the call I asked for more details about the type of work I would need to do, they seemed distracted and responded that they didn't understand the question. When I repeated my question, they said she didn't know and that I should ask the hiring manager in the next interview (that I was never invited to).
I understand they expect the candidate to have done their research, but giving zero introduction to the company or role looks unprofessional and gives the impression that Travelperk are indifferent to whether the candidate is interested in them. It is almost as if they expect that every candidate automatically wants to work for them, because media writes about them.
I am sure Travelperk could gain better equipped candidates for semi-technical management roles such as this one, if they have some requirements on top of "we're looking for a real people's person" and if they make the effort to engage and interest their candidates.

Question 1
Tell me about yourself, what is your management style, what is your weakest quality, etc.
Hello, thank you for letting us know that you had a not-so-good experience. We really don't like to read things like that and do try to listen to and read all the feedback both good and bad so we can be better. It is true that we screen candidates before going into a great amount of detail as to a role. This is to give our hiring managers as much use of their time as possible to do their core duties and be able to maximize their time they do spend recruiting.
We publish detailed info about the daily activities for a role in our job ads, which you can find on our careers page. We always work to make our screening better, and will take yours and other feedback into account.
Thank you again.
