I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Penske Truck Leasing in Jan 2010
Interview
I was contacted by a manager, had a quick informal meeting. Mostly a warning of some of the downsides of the job. The individual was very through and honest about the positives and the drawbacks of the position. Then panel interview with district level management. Largely general, at this point the decision is already made, its the hiring manager's job to sell you to higher level management, obviously you'll have a interest in how this goes. Many weeks later received offer, no word in the interveening weeks as to whether I was hired or not.
Most hiring is done seasonally, end of summer promotions, late winter new hires for part time continues into late spring, college summer break. Interview process compressed and often sloppy late May to early October, expect quick hiring in that time of year.

Interview
The hiring process was quick and painless. I applied for rental rep, the next day I received a phone call asking to come in for an interview. We set a date for the interview. I was called the next day asking to come in for a second interview with the District Manager. After the interview with the District Manager, I was called that day with a position offer.
