The Senior Director did not show up for the interview, hence, I only met the HR person, even though the time was chosen from their side. The flow of the interview wasn't great, the HR would suddenly ask a question that didn't really connect well with the previous subject. Wasn't really able to answer my questions. Overall, HR seems tired and not interested from the start.
The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Pedder Group (Aberdeen)
Interview
1 – interview with the HR
very detailed questions about your previous experience
lots of focus on strength and weaknesses
they're pretty chill
2 – math and personality test
one of the test is on retail math questions, they provide you with formulas
second test involves questions such as
e.g., if you're new here and sth had gone wrong in an order but your manager is out on a buying trip, what would you do
3 – interview with a manager from higher up
(i got an assistant buyer for the first role i interviewed for, and a director of merchandising for the second role– so it depends)
some questions overlapped with the one HR asked
asks you why buying, why lane crawford, career plans
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Pedder Group (Hong Kong) in Oct 2015
Interview
I found the opening through their company website and applied online, the whole process took 2 weeks. There were 2 round of interview, the first round was with recruiter from HR, asked about basic personal information and why apply for this position. There were simple math test given after the interview. The second round was with Merchandiser and Buyer, normal interview, asking about strength, weakness, passion, previous experience etc. And another set of test was given, calculation test but more complicated compared to the first one.
After all it was a good experience.
