The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Payless ShoeSource (Philadelphia, PA) in Feb 2010
Interview
It was easy to see the training supervisor because she has to run a store like a manager. As soon as I submitted the application she set me up for the personality test, which concentrated on honesty and reliablity. Afterwords we talked for a short while, but there would be no formal interview before the results of the personality test. The interviews with the supervisor and district manager were straight forward. After I was hired the supervisor showed me how she had checked every one of my education and work places on my application. Note that if they feel that you have padded your app at all, they will not hire you.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Payless ShoeSource (Saint Louis, MO) in Aug 2017

My interview took 2 hours. I asked a lot of questions and answered a lot of questions . I also did roll play and sold a pair of shoes to the interviewer.

Hiring process is pretty easy. You get called in for an interview with store manager, if you are a good potential you get scheduled for a 2nd interview. The most successful candidate is called back and an offer is made.
