      Software Engineer Interview

      8 Feb 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Atlanta, GA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Patientco (Atlanta, GA) in Feb 2018

      Interview

Seems like a cool company and nice enough people, and I understand that 'culture fit' is important for them, but the interview process is a little ridiculous. In my case it literally pushed towards 5 hours. Only to get feedback that they wanted someone with 'more experience'. My experience was represented accurately on my resume, they could have told me this before I took an entire day off of work to come down and interview; if that was the case I honestly have no idea why they brought me in to begin with. Or let the process go on for so long. Streamline your process. Screen candidates more effectively. Respect working people's time, especially in Atlanta with commute times what they are. You guys are in Buckhead for chrissake.

      Question 1

Wish they had asked me if I'd be willing to drive north on 400 at 5pm, I would have said 'no'.

Thank you so much for the feedback and we apologize that you did not have a positive experience when interviewing with us. Every candidate should have a positive experience with Patientco and, unfortunately, it sounds like we fell short during your experience. We have a core value of "Improve each and every day" and we will absolutely do our best to provide a better experience for those interviewing with us. Thank you for the time and your interest in Patientco.

      Interview

Because I lived out of state I had to do several phone interviews. I spoke with the recruiter once before speaking briefly with the team lead, where we spoke about the technologies that they were using. Afterwards I came on site and had interviews with most of the team. These interviews were pretty in-depth from a technical and social perspective. The on site lasted from about 9am to 1pm.

      Interview

It was very straight forward and comfortable. The team really likes to make sure they are finding a great teammate first and then putting them to the technical chops. It seems as though it could be a rather lengthy process but I think it makes up for itself with the quality of engineers they find.
