Applied for position on the website. They claim to be different and devoid of traditional bureaucracy. I think they have strayed a little bit too far, and could use some trained HR staff.
I was scheduled a phone interview, after a very encouraging, tailored email. The person who called was not a recruiter, but an actual supervisor from the department of the position. The interview started off bad, as he was 15 minutes late. Midway, a phone rang in the background (a distinct Iphone ring), and shortly after our call cutoff. I don't like to make unwarranted accusations, but I am fairly certain he hung up on me to take the call. After he called back, he proceeded to ask perfunctory resume-based questions. The interview lasted approximately 15 minutes.
The reason I am giving Palantir a "negative" rating is because of what happened after the interview. Less than two hours after our phone interview I received a rejection email, singed "Palantir Technologies", and not the guy's name. I was very surprised to see such a prompt, cold response, and would expect better from a company that claims such a friendly atmosphere
