Was a strange process. A few caveats you should know about.
1. This is a glorified real estate brokerage. At least that is what I felt it was once I talked to a few people there. It appears you need to have RE experience and especially sales experience to even move forward. Which is strange since RE is just another asset class and does not require a rocket scientist to figure out.
2. There is nothing here about building a relationship with prospective hires. There is a shortage of talent and companies make sure that the recruiting process is absolutely reflective of the cultures and values of the company so as to attract the best and the brightest. Not so much at this place. It was bad communication and often times NO communication. HR was a mess and I felt like they were doing me a favor just by talking to me. It felt like a chore to them. No humility, no compassion, no growth mindset. HEY PACASO - COMMUNICATE with your recruits. Learn from how Robinhood does it (truly world class recruiting at RH). RH even answers ever resume received and I am sure they get a factor of 100x more than you guys.
Just an all around bad experience. Make me wonder if their PR is working overtime to make it seem like something it is not.
Thank you so much for taking the time the review, this was a tough one to read and certainly not reflective of the experience we want to be providing our candidates. Our engineers are not required to have real estate or sales experience. I would love to learn more about how we could have done better. Please shoot me a note at rasika@pacaso.com - I sincerely hope you consider us in the future!
