I got through about 5 minutes of the first phone interview before I declined, they were misleading on the pay on the ad for the position. They labeled the position $102k-$114k plus bonuses. Found out after some very avoided answers to pointed questions, that these are the maximum payouts for the position, meaning it’s $30-$45k less in salary and there is a bonus cap and these are if you hit those caps.
That was enough for me to know it’s not the company for me.
I recommend being transparent when advertising the base pay and to avoid the bait & switch tactic, so to not waste applicants and the recruiters time.
