I was asked about my work history, but there was no effort made to delve into actual design decisions or process. Instead, they require candidates to submit to a 5 task challenge, providing insights into their actual business site, from which they potentially stand to profit, without compensation. I could understand if the challenge was based on material from which they did not stand to gain, and if the time required to complete the challenge was not excessive, but this was not the case. Applicants are asked to take 5 days to develop responses... "work over the weekend if you like...".
Challenge is as follows:
1. Review their home page and provide 3 user goals as well as 3 business goals.
2. Describe likes and dislikes, and then provide them with insight as to what you would add, remove or change to make their page a better experience
3. Provide a competitive analysis of search functionality, using their site as a base compared against their 4 top competitors
4. Provide a 1-2 page annotated wireframe that evolves an existing page on their site
5. Provide an additional wireframe that illustrates how the evolved page would render responsively in IOS mobile
