I had one of the most frustrating interview experiences with Ouster.
After clearing multiple rounds (screening, technical, second technical, and VP round), I was explicitly given positive feedback and then assigned a take-home assignment, followed by an additional “bonus” assignment. This required a significant time investment.
After submitting everything, there was complete silence. No update. No feedback. No courtesy response.
I eventually had to chase them myself, only to receive a rejection — without a single line of feedback. After so many rounds and unpaid work, this shows a complete lack of professionalism and respect for candidates’ time and effort.
If a company can’t even communicate transparently after asking for free labor and multiple interviews, it says a lot about their internal culture and decision-making.
Would strongly caution candidates before investing weeks of efforts here.
