My interview experience with Ossila started positively with a warm and welcoming 30-minute phone call, followed by an in-person interview involving a presentation and a Q&A session. The process was initially professional and engaging, allowing for a mutual assessment of fit.
However, during the in-person interview, an unexpected turn occurred when an interviewer revealed they had Googled me, finding an article that mentioned a health issue. This led to an uncomfortable situation where I felt forced to disclose a disability - which was irrelevant to my capabilities and the position I was applying for.
This breach of privacy compelled me to withdraw my application, raising concerns regarding the company’s respect for personal boundaries, inclusivity, and overall culture. Through sharing my experience, I aim to prompt Ossila to reevaluate their hiring practices to ensure they respect the privacy, autonomy, and legal rights of their candidates, fostering a more inclusive and legally compliant hiring environment.
