Interview Process:
Initial screening with HR (general background and motivation)
45-minute interview with a team lead (technical/role-focused)
On-site: back-to-back interviews: 45 minute behavioral discussion and a 1 hour past project presentation.
And final.
Experience:
The process was well-organized and ran smoothly. Everyone I met was respectful, friendly, and genuinely engaged in the conversations. The on-site interviews provided a good sense of the company culture and the type of work the team is focused on.
Outcome:
I was not moved forward after the final stage. The feedback I received was that there were gaps in my understanding of the R&D nature of the company and in my AI experience. While I appreciated the transparency, I did find this a little contradictory — in my current company, my R&D and AI knowledge didn’t exist on day one; I built it through the work itself. Opportunities like this are usually how such expertise develops.
Overall Impression:
A positive experience overall with a thoughtful process and professional team. However, the expectations for prior experience in certain areas may be set at a level that makes it difficult for candidates to realistically grow into the role.
