      Average interview

      Application

I applied through university. I interviewed at Optimity

      Interview

The first round was a behavioral interview with one person. They are extremely friendly and do a good job looking at not only if you are qualified, but who you are. Second round interviews are more intensive with 3 behavioral and one case interview on site. You are interviewed by high-level employees such as managers and partners.

      Application

      Interview

Pre-Interview happy hour was fun. Got to meet a lot of the team, all of whom were great people. The interview itself was primarily behavioral with one case. The case was easy, but we were told prior to the interview that we would be given a calculator; however, I ended up having to do the math by hand. I found out from other people who interviewed that their interviewer told them to take out a calculator prior to the beginning of the case. I found this to be unfair and disorganized on the part of both interviewers. There should always be consistency with the process.

      Associate Consultant Interview

      17 Nov 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Easy interview

      Application

      I interviewed at Optimity

      Interview

3 week process. Standard behavioral questions in the on-campus first round. Followed up with a in-office superday in the D.C. office. At the super day, the interviews, again, were informal and largely behavioral. Personally, I felt like the interviewers were fairly disengaged, and I had a feeling that they knew who they wanted to hire before they even began the process. Essentially, don't expect much from the interviews. It's a crap-shoot. Besides, they try to pitch the company really well, but it is pretty clear that optimity still has very limited brand name recognition and they really can't compete with the larger consulting firms. Also, the employees don't seem as serious/professional as I would have hoped from a consulting firm. The up-side is that everyone is pretty friendly. My recommendation is that you shouldn't go in expecting a very evaluative process and enjoy the free food/trip to DC.

      Question 1

The case question gave you data on a worksheet which is unexpected. Still, very easy.
