The online application was easy. A few days after submitting the application, I was contacted by email by the hiring manager for a 30 min phone screen. Phone screen consisted of behavioral questions focusing on my last three positions and what my supervisors thought about my work— both areas of strength and improvement. Thought provoking questions but nothing confusing or out of the ordinary. I was invited to move forward to the next round which consisted of a work sample. I was provided with two scenarios and a number or resources/metrics to be used as guides in compiling my response. I was instructed the work sample should take 5-7 hours of my time to complete. My response was detailed and contained specific examples of how I would address business needs. This felt like free consulting. I’m certain that my response and those of the other interviewees yielded some valuable information for the organization. I was not selected to move on to the next round. Instead, I received a brief, cold, auto generated ATS response informing me of a very “competitive search” and that I would not be moving on. This could have been handled better but it was telling to me on how management operates at OneGoal so I feel like I dodged a bullet.
If given the opportunity to provide a work sample as part of the interview process- think twice!
