HR was very unprofessional, he was just connecting via call and he made me wait outside a meeting room for 10 minutes as room for interview was not free and I was really not comfortable standing there in front of 100s of employees. After 10 minutes, HR came and took me to another floor.
1st on call screening was there and then 4 rounds at their HQ.
In the 1st round, I really found the guy frustrated and tired. I answered almost all the questions but guy was not clear with OS basics. He got offended when he asked me about Load Average in linux and I told him about the factors that impact the Load Average like CPU, Diskio and Network. He kept saying no, load average is dependent on CPU only. I tried explaining him with scenarios also where I have seen issues in which CPU was not the bottleneck but it was diskio due to which Load Average goes high. But he didn't agree with my statements.
In the 2nd round, Guy asked me about multiple concepts in cloud. Also, guy gave me scenarios for which I have most of the solutions that too with managed services which were better solutions than the traditional methods they are using. But I guess he wanted to hear that answer that he had in his mind and the solution he told me was more like a hack and had a single point of failure. Overall he asked good questions and I also answered almost all.
In the 3rd round, Senior DevOps came for the interview, I really found him genuine and a true DevOps guy with good knowledge about systems and Databases. He asked mostly questions about databases only. I answered all very well as I have got good experience with Databases. He asked good scenarios to understand my knowledge. Kudos to him.
Final round was Culture Fitment round. Again disappointing as it was taken by someone else not by the DevOps manager.
Overall experience was bad. I was really expecting something better and challenging.
If you want to grow, prefer to go somewhere else. Their knowledge is very limited.
