Contacted by a recruiter who'd come across my CV and thought I'd be a good match for a temp role they were currently recruiting for. I spent around 40 mins on the phone with the recruiter going through my skills and experience. The next day he confirmed I'd been accepted for an interview, to take place two days later. I was told it would be no more than 20 mins. It was the weirdest interview I've ever had. The interviewer talked for about 10 mins then asked me to talk him through my CV which I did. He didn't ask me any interview questions it was very casual. I thought he must have made up his mind one way or the other before the call based on my CV, so I was hopeful. Later the same day I got a call from the recruiter to let me know I'd been unsuccessful. The feedback: there were 4 good candidates, it was close, but because I've been out of FT permanent employment for around 18 months and in that time have only done temp work (for 6 months last year) they felt that I would find it harder to hit the ground running than the candidate which was selected
