I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual in May 2009
Interview
I met my recruiter at the University Job Fair. I then went to an information session at the NY office during spring break. There i was told I would have to go to a 1:1 interview with my College Unit Director. During the interview he asked about my qualifications and specifically my current network of people. I was then given a large booklet and instructed to do the "power 100" and name 100 people and my relationship with them. Then i would have to put together a ten minute power point of why I am qualified for the position. After i did all this I was accepted. They then had to do a background check as a final test and I was set to train with the other interns.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
There were no difficult questions. The interview was relatively informal.
There were four or five interviews, if you count the meeting with my future mentor. There were also a few personality assessments. Lots of paperwork. The finance industry is tightly regulated.
The first interview was easygoing and went fairly well. We talked a little on myself and what northwestern was all about. Because they wanted to see how I could fit in to their team and what I would bring.
I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Greenville, SC)
Interview
The process was smooth and straight forward. A lot of behavioral based questions, but relaxed and low stress. First phase is a phone screening followed by a teams or in person meeting.
