The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Los Angeles, CA) in Oct 2022
Interview
Phone screen with recruiter: Very friendly, spoke highly of the firm’s culture, and provided an overview of the financial representative role.
Second interview (in person with the Managing Director): Covered the role in greater depth, with a strong emphasis on earning potential and the importance of bringing on new clients to succeed.
Third interview (in person): Met with two financial advisors to hear about their experiences, then reconnected with the Managing Director to review a list of people I knew across different categories in order to assess my potential success based on my natural market.

Question 1
The interviews felt more focused on selling me on the role and the opportunity to build my own practice. They did, however, ask about my prior sales and entrepreneurial experience, since those traits are considered strong indicators of success in the position.
There were four or five interviews, if you count the meeting with my future mentor. There were also a few personality assessments. Lots of paperwork. The finance industry is tightly regulated.
The first interview was easygoing and went fairly well. We talked a little on myself and what northwestern was all about. Because they wanted to see how I could fit in to their team and what I would bring.

Interview
The process was smooth and straight forward. A lot of behavioral based questions, but relaxed and low stress. First phase is a phone screening followed by a teams or in person meeting.
