Applied online. Job posting said "$42,100 - $70,100 a year - Full-time" but the recruiter emailed me to say it was "Equivalent to $50,000 per year on an hourly basis." Not sure why they don't just post what they intended to actually pay. The recruiter responded making excuses and jargon to defend the bait and switch tactics: "The compensation listed is a range. The targeted compensation mentioned is within that range. The range represents compensation across the Company where the targeted compensation mentioned is specific for the location and team averages. Other factors account for the number including unclassified work, etc. There is flexibility which falls within that range (+/-), but this is the number this group would be targeting." That is a bad faith justification for misleading job posting.
