Showed up to a dingy floor, company looked a bit fly-by-night. Checked in with the receptionist that was unlabled and a bit of to the side. Taken for interview late. First was given a test about computers where the giver might be able point at a PC 2 in 3 times. Test, the 6th one I was made to do by the company, was not needful given I was being interviewed for a L1 Tech Support gig. I completed it, and fixed their broken think client without asking (it was legitimately set up poorly). I was then taken into another room. Interviewer was shocked at my resume and also wanted me to bring a paper copy which is highly unusual, not a problem for me to do but also I was never asked to do so pre-interview. Interviewer didn't really have questions so w chatted. Interviewer said I'd likely be put in for a different job as what was advertised, L1 Tech, was more like a L -0.5 phone answerer. Job pays slightly above adjusted minimum wage and only 60% of a basic area living wage. Interviewer seems sad I knew that.
I got the real sense that they used the same process no matter what job it was for or who was applying. It was clumsy and uninformed. I guess when all you have is a hammer everything looks like a nail. It certainly made me wary if the want to hire me.
