The three part interview was efficient and enjoyable. First I spoke to a current virtual Health Coach over the phone. She asked me a few screening questions. It was obvious that she was just trying to get to know me and form an opinion on whether or not I could do the job in the job description. It appeared that she was just another coach, not a supervisor or manager. She passed me along to the second part of the interview. In this part, I went through a "mock coaching" exercise using the Noom App. I acted like the health coach and led a session (for about 45 minutes) with a fake client. This client was extremely stubborn, unwilling to change her behavior or try new things in order to reach her goal of losing 50 lbs. I was empathetic and kind, yet creative and stern. This was a really fun exercise and I really enjoyed it. As a Health Coach with over 6 years of coaching experience, the fake client was not typical at all and didn't act like any client I have ever worked with. However, it was a good exercise for the company to see how a prospective coach could handle tough situations. After this, I was passed to the third part of the interview....a video interview. Again, the interviewer was a current health coach. She couldn't get the video component of her call to work, so the entire call I was looking at a blank screen (instead of a human) and she was looking at me. A little frustrating, but I understand glitches happen. This call was slotted for an hour, but we only spent about 25 minutes together. She quickly realized I was qualified for the job after asking me a few "real life scenario" questions. I really enjoyed the 3 women I spoke with. I think Noom has a great environment and has hired some intelligent and energetic people. At the conclusion of my interview I immediately was emailed and asked to set up my final call where someone from the talent team would discuss pay, offer, and job structure. Unfortunately, after all the time I invested the offer was 15% of what I am currently making. Talk about a SHOCKER! I was a bit disappointed that the company would even entertain and waste my time for an interview process when they could have quickly seen that I was extremely overqualified for their $15/hr position! The job posting had NO pay grade listed and there was NO way to know what the position was willing to pay. All in all, it was a joyful experience but I did feel like I wasted my time. I also am disappointed that this company would pay their coaches so little. Makes you wonder what quality of coach they are actually hiring? hmmm.....
