I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Nobbies (Bellevue, NE) in Mar 2018
Interview
I sat in a room with two of the managers and they asked me fairly straightforward interview questions. The interview lasted around 30 minutes and I was hired; starting work the day after.

Question 1
If someone walked in in December asking for Cinco De Mayo decorations, how would you assist them?
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Nobbies (Omaha, NE) in Feb 2019
Interview
Applied online, within the week I got an email requesting me to set up a time to interview, picked the following day. I arrived early and was told to wait because I was early by the manager from the opposite end of the registers as I was just at the entrance, shouting this over the customers in line very rudely. I was just checking in, had no expectations of rushing her. I stood there silently waiting for her. 10 mins later from the same register, she hollars over to me and waving her hand motioning for me to come down there. I did, she didn't make any eye contact and rudely asks if I've ever worked in retail. I said yes and she goes "I find that hard to believe when you offer an availability like this one." Now the position I applied for stated hiring all shifts, perfect for part-time students, supplemental income and so forth. I said "why did you ask me to come in if you weren't interested in my availability then?" She replied with "I need Thursday evenings and all day Sunday shifts, that's it. Can you change your availability or did we just waste my time?" Needless to say, she didn't enjoy my response but the customer who had been waiting in the next line did and even left her almost full cart of birthday party things right there and said that she will no longer shop there for her 7 kids and will happily spread the word about the managers disgusting behavior.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Nobbies (Clive, IA) in Sept 2015
Interview
Talked to the store manager for 15 min and got the job. It was very easy and they seemed to be very desperate. It IS a retail job so that might contribute to the novice interview process.
