I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Nikola (Salt Lake City, UT) in Jan 2018
Interview
The process was very casual (in a good way). They brought me in and got to know me a little bit and talked about my previous experience, my career goals, and what Nikola is looking for and trying to achieve. Things went well and they had me back for a more technical interview with some questions and a pairing exercise. It was not your traditional high-pressure whiteboarding interview.
Total 4 interviews. - Phone screen x 1 - Technical x 2 - Final x 1 All interviews were conducted via online for my case. Onboard/Online could be selected based on your situations.

The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Nikola in Sept 2019
Interview
I applied online and it took three weeks before anyone reached out to me. I then had a non-technical interview with an internal recruiter. The recruiter called a full twenty minutes early and asked me to send them my resume again because they did not have it, speaking to their complete lack of organization. The phone interview consisted of easy softball behavioral questions, and the only technical questions were to rank myself in various technologies from 1 to 5. I was then asked in a roundabout way about my familial status under the guise of asking what I would need in terms of medical benefits, whether I would need family coverage or not. I deflected the question, but this was obviously very uncomfortable, discriminatory and ILLEGAL! A four-week process that was totally unprofessional in every way.
